Bar Boulud NYC
Last month, a friend of mine invited me to come with her to the City for her birthday. We decided that we were going to see a taping of the Drew Barrymore Show! Before the show, we decided to have lunch at Bar Boulud. Perfect time to go here for lunch because it was Restaurant Week in NYC!

New Year’s Eve at Beach Plum Farm
New Year’s Eve 2024. It has been a tradition for my husband and I to go away for New Years. One of our favorite New Year’s getaways is traveling down South Jersey to Cape May! This year we decided to try Beach Plum Farm’s New Year’s Eve Farm to Table Dinner.

COOKSHOP – NYC
A couple of weeks ago, a friend and I had tickets for the Tribeca Film Festival and we wanted to grab a bite to eat before. We decided to hit this spot. The Cookshop is an eatery that uses fresh and local ingredients.

Anniversary dinner at Hell’s Kitchen! The hubby and I are obsessed with the show Hell’s Kitchen and Gordon Ramsay. So of course we go here.

John’s Pizzeria of Times Square
A friend and I had tickets to see the Broadway show “New York, New York”, but we wanted to head out for dinner before the show. My friend suggested this place, “John’s Pizzeria of Times Square”.

Carbone Miami
The hubby and I headed down to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to enjoy some sun and be with family. The hubby was lucky enough to get us a reservation at Carbone, Miami… and these reservations are difficult to get! Carbone is an Italian-American restaurant created by Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick.

Samuri Sushi
Back in April of this year, some friends and I decided to have a girl’s night. One of them suggested this place! Samurai Sushi features sashimi, rolls, and Ramen. It is located in East Rutherford, NJ.

Joe Bosco BBQ
Joe Bosco BBQ is an authentic smokehouse & BBQ located in the Delaware Water Gap region. They use a smoker and they smoke all their meat with wood fire. They have a signature brisket that undergoes a 14-hour smoking process that produces the juiciest and most tender cuts of meat.

Bloomfield Steak and Seafood House
Back during the winter of 2022, I decided to venture back to this restaurant. The last time I dined here I was very young, yet I remember the sights, sounds and taste of eating here.
Now that I’m older, I wanted to come back here and rediscover it!

Lambertville House
Lambertville House serves American cuisine – seasonal dishes that can be enjoyed on their lovely patio overlooking Bridge Street. The hotel that houses the restaurant has been a local landmark for over 200 years.

Asbury Ale House
Towards the end of November, I stopped at this place with a friend of mine for lunch. This place is located in the heart of historic Asbury park, New Jersey.

Epistrophy
Epistrophy was a founded by Sardinian friends who fell in love with New York City. It is an Italian restaurant that offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, drinks, or dinner. They serve an organic, locally sourced menu that is heavily based on Sardinian recipes and traditions.

Gus’ Last Word
So the hubby, two of my coworkers and I decided to try Gus’ Last Word. This restaurant is inspired by the owners’ (the Maroulakos brothers) grandparent’s 1950’s cellar bar. The bar & dining room capture the essence of the era with a fun, modern twist along with a seasonal backyard Garden.

Prime and Beyond is an upmarket eatery that serves dry and wet-aged steaks, family style or individually, with Korean sides. From farm to table, they use high quality and USDA Prime meat.

Bread & Tulips
Bread & Tulips is a cozy neighborhood spot serving rustic Italian cuisine since 2011. (We sat in their outdoor, sidewalk café.) Located at 365 Park Ave S, New York, NY, they serve freshly-made pastas and crisp, fluffy neo-Neapolitan brick oven pizzas. They also use locally-sourced ingredients.

Cowan’s Public
Cowan’s is one of my favorite places to eat. I have gone there with the husband numerous times. Located in Nutley NJ, this restaurant has a 1930’s charm.

Double S Smokehouse
Back in early September, after one of our weekend hikes in Sussex County NJ, my husband and I stopped at this place for an early dinner. It’s located in Augusta N.J. When first stumbling upon it, we got hit with a glorious smoked meat smell!

Marcus at NoHu Rooftop
This place is located in Weehawken, NJ on top of the ENVUE Hotel. It is a rooftop restaurant that has beautiful views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. Chef Marcus Samuelsson is the owner. (Chef Samuelsson is the acclaimed chef, cookbook author, TV personality, philanthropist and food activist behind the iconic New York City restaurant Red Rooster Harlem and Marcus B+P in Newark.) His menu is inspired by locally sourced seasonal items from local farms and suppliers.

SLA Thai
We decided to try a cute Thai spot in Montclair, NJ. Beautifully decorated restaurant, located right in downtown Montclair, they serve Northern Thai dishes. “SLA” stands for Simple, Love, Authentic.

The Barrow House
“Food is our common ground, a universal experience” – James Beard-So this food outing we were celebrating my hubby’s birthday and we decided to go to one of our favorite places, The Barrow House! The Barrow House is a Colonial Era Farmhouse located in Clifton. They serve rustic American Farm Fare, as well as, handcrafted cocktails and a great selection of craft beers.
